I think for any other MCAT I would not be nervous but that test kicked my butt!!! I'm nervous as hell. Do you think the curve will be forgiving? I hope a lot of people voided on test day... that might help us

My biggest concern this time is verbal. I ran into that "Poetry and the Past" passage and ended up skipping it. Next passage I saw I had enough time to usually finish passages assuming I actually did the previous passage! So I had to go lightning speed. However, I did finish the whole thing without christmastreeing it or what not.

We shall see.

It seems as though we had an unusually difficult exam on the 24th. I am going through phases where I think I might have done decent, and other times when I just feel like I did horrible. We are all in the same boat, and at this point I am not going to let a bad score bring me down.

i feel like absolute crap and i'm dreading that day - and its not the score part thats the worst, its realizing that i have to study all over again that is

i've going thru the same phases where i think oh i'll be fine because the curve will be good and other times i remember how many blind guesses i made in PS

I think that the more people voided the test, the less forgiving the curve would be. That would leave only the people that thought they did well.

From the posts of all other MCATs, I do believe we were the lucky ones that had a really challenging test.

Lucky? ha! I would have rather had an easier test and lived under the false perception that I did ok than thinking I did crappy for a month and actually doing crappy. My I just hope it is an improvement from my last score or else I'll be finding the nearest window on the 12th floor of a building.

I'm looking forward to knowing my score just to get it over with and to know if I have to redo it. I feel really terrible about the physical science section. I was really prepared for General Chem but unfortunately there was very little. I registered for Sept 7th just in case. I just found a seat 2 days ago by some miracle....b/c everything has been full for weeks. :scared::scared:

10 more days... wow I'm freaked out. I just keep thinking of that Fe57 passage and the Sin(800pi) question. Who thought up that PS section???

I'm doin the same. Makes sense since submitting now only means they'll wait for your mcat anyway.

Arrgh... I am very very scared!
Like some of you have said, sometimes I have that feeling like "Well maybe my practice tests really will reflect in my real score," which for me would mean getting about a 30. I would be totally happy with that... Other times I remember all the guesses in PS, and then just start praying I got over a 20. Heh... but yeah, I'm also wondering if I'd be able to take it again before the cycle is over - if there are any September seats left. ;_;

The worst part is that when that day comes, I'll be living completely alone. No one to talk me out of eating a bullet (or, less likely, no one to say "wooo" with, haha). ;)

oh boy, here we go. . .

I thought that if there wasn't a countdown thread to the date then it wouldn't be real or so soon.

Ditto I waiting for this MCAT then I'll send in my secondaries. Is it normal for AMCAS to have my app on "Submitted-Ready for review"? Is it waiting for my mcat score? *That's my whole concern seeing as how I submitted it about 2 weeks+ ago*

As for the test I took it with a bunch of UCLA'ers and they found the PS to be most difficult. It was a nice setting this testing time because everyone talked during the break which, in my opinion, really relaxed me during the break. (I love to talk :D). Anyways I found the PS to be harder than normal, but still quite solvable, the verbal was a lot easier than what I'm accustomed to, the biology straight up killed me. It was by far more convoluted and analytical that I'm used to. I just pray for a 30+

My practice tests were great but July 24th really bombed me. I have thought about it so much that now I can virtually accept anything (I guess).
Planning to go on a vacation this week so that I can drown myself in sorrow next week.

if you've already submitted the primaries, will aamc ust forward the score to all the schools automatically?

So you think voided tests are not factored into the curve? That would be horrible; then a harder test could end up encouraging more people potentially at the bottom of the curve to void then an easier test; making the scaled scores to a harder test lower.

I don't know how they could factor voided tests into the curve because the answers you give are supposed to be completely discarded when you hit void. The AAMC isn't even supposed to get your answers if you void.

Well you do lose potentially low results that would bring down the mean and affect the curve. But nothing they can do about the voided tests.

I was so nervous yesterday. I misread the July 13th part and automatically thought it was ours. *whew* I was pretty stressed out the whole day.

I get nervous about the results too sometimes. I don't think there would be a lot of people who voided. Some possibly, but not an extraordinary amount. We will get a nice curve, and all the hard work will pay off.

I'm sure PS will have a nice curve b/c pretty much everyone has said it was extremely hard. But what about verbal and bio? i think the general consensus for those two sections has been that they were fine, which worries me cause that means no curve at all. :(

AHHHH so I've been avoiding SDN for a while now, too scared and didn't want to realize I missed yet another one, but I finally grew some big balls and now am back and waiting with y'all. I hope everyone kicked its ass! Since we stand for less than 5% of test takers I'm sure, I hope we all got in the top 95 percentile!

Yes it kicked my ass, yes I'm waiting for a score that kicks my ass...sigh

there were some pretty nasty sentiments about bio around here if I remember correctly.

Just so you know...suicidal humor (I'm hoping it's humor) does not go over well on a discussion board. I just triggers a reflexive thought that someone should be notified. :)

every1's sayin the physical was so tough, how bout the verbal?! All I remember about the verbal is that there were FOUR HUMANITIES PASSAGES!!! Usually theres only 2 or 3. That definately killed me since those are usually the dryest, abstractest passages that I end up doing poorly on. Also, not only were there 4 of those, all the passages were longer too! Really worried, hope I didn't get a 5 on verbal :(

I had one of the most vivid dreams that I've ever had tonight.
I dreamt I got a 34 (11,10,13), and along with the score I also got an invitation to do my residency in the hospital I work at.
I took the MCAT on the 24th and 8/9, and although I'm almost certain I didn't score that high on the 24th, I think it was possibly the second time around. Guess we'll wait and see.

Wait -

You took it on those dates in your dream, or in real life?
If in real life, why did you take again w/o seeing your first score or voiding?

life really stinks right now. I'm transitioning from an optimistic head-in-the-clouds crazy person into a pessimistic grumpy psychotic loser.

no wonder my parents want to make sure there's someone in the house with me when I find out my score...

well I'm crazy either way.

I took it on those dates in real life. I originally wanted to take it after the score release, but the sept dates were booked solid when I looked.
I figured I had no idea how I did on the 24th- in my estimation I did somewhere in the upper 20's without a substantial curve, and I knew I could do much better.
I took it on 8/9 with the mindset that I would give it my best shot, and if it didnt feel like i did better, I would void.
long story short, taking it on the 9th was one of the best decisions I've ever made- the test was much, much easier, I got a great night sleep before (took the 24th date on no sleep), and I was much calmer.

Not a lot of people seem to be happy with their July 13th score. Makes me worried because it seemed their test was easier than ours. . ..god, i"m scared.

So, if there are no delays, it's only 7 days until we get the score... right?

*bites nails*
