July PCAT Registration- Schools

Hey everyone. I am confused about the registration for the PCAT. I already did it and just checked all of the schools that I will be applying to and scheduled the test center. I was looking back through old posts on here though and I read something about how if all the schools are through Pharmcas, you only have to send it to pharmcas and you don't have to choose each of the individual schools. Also would the pcat score send to pharmacs if you just type in your cid on pharmcas? I don't remember seeing the pharmcas code 104 when I was choosing each of the schools. Is there anyway to check if it's being sent there? Do I need to redo the whole registration? Let me know soon. Thank you. 🙂

When I signed up for the PCAT this coming July the first possible option for me to choose was the PharmCas code. You may want to recheck it. Quite a few schools won't take the mailed PCAT results, as they get everything from PharmCas. Let me know if this helps.

Only send to the individual school if that school does not use PharmCAS or if the school specifically requests it.

I just found out that I didnt choose code 104 for Pharmcas. I haveto chose it. Do u guys have any idea how to go back and add code 104 to my application?

I'm pretty sure that once your first registration is complete the only way to add the PharmCas code is $20. After the original registration, any additional "code" is $20 I think. In the handbook on Pearson's website for PCAT there should be a section that talks all about it.

Is it too late if I register for PCAT exam in January, I need time to review for the test. The deadline for application is begining of Feb, do you think they will read my application or they won't read until they see my pcat score?

It honestly depends on the school you are applying to. I just went to an open house at the University of Kentucky and they basically said that they don't recommended January be your one and only shot because it takes 4-6 for PCAT results to come back and they might not have it in time to offer an interview during their last round in February. They have rolling admissions, so it might be different elsewhere, especially if the school doesn't have rolling admissions. I always always always err on the side of caution and call the pharmacy schools I'm applying to and check with them. My future is too important to me to screw it up by not calling to get specifics.

One thing they recommended is that if you're worried about getting a fantastic score but think it might be a later date that gets you there, go ahead and take it in July or September and then if necessary, take it in January. Your July or September score might not be fantastic, but at least it is there so you don't miss out on your chance for an interview. But check with your school!

the same thing happened to me, i registered for the july pcat but wasn't aware that i had to send the scores to pharmcas so i called pearson up yesterday and they told me that there was no other way to add it besides canceling and registering. however, the woman asked me for my full name and birthday and saw that i had sent it to a pharmcas participating school and she said because of this, pharmcas will get it and i won't have to cancel and re-register. if it means anything the schools i applied to were touro, buffalo, and UF, all of whom are pharmcas schools as far as i'm aware. so if you're wondering about it, the best thing to do is just call them and they'll help.
