June 20th MCAT too late for acceptances this cycle? Any experiences?

So I am currently registered for the May 30th MCAT, and I fear that I wont have enough time to study for it, considering all the application cycle paperwork, semester work and other work I have on my hands. I was thinking of delaying it to the June 20th MCAT- however, my scores wouldn't be released until July 23rd- and I was wondering if that would malignantly affect my chances of matriculating this application cycle. Can one still be complete and start receiving secondaries without a MCAT score? Has anyone here applied with a June 20th MCAT and gotten multiple acceptances? Or is it too late? I greatly appreciate your feedback!

I took it on June 20th and managed to swing 3 acceptances, 1 WL. My score wasn't spectacular either, 28O. I just used the time between taking the MCAT and getting the score to start filling out secondary essay prompts I found for my schools on SDN.
I think more time studying and a better MCAT score will help you more in the long run than completing a month earlier. But that's just my two cents
Best of luck!

I did this exact same thing last year, switching from the May 31 to the June 21. It's totally fine and not too late.

I took the MCAT on July 6th and my scores weren't released until August. I've managed 8 interviews and multiple acceptances. Schools don't start interviewing until September, so if you have your secondaries completed by the end of August, you'll pretty much be in the same boat with everybody who has their stuff lined up beforehand. Just make sure your amcas is verified by the time your scores come out so your complete file will be sent to med schools immediately after the scores are received.

Wow its great to hear all these insights. Thanks a bunch folks! I feel SO MUCH better about my decision now.

You can't be verified by AMCAS without a score, but you CAN submit your primary. A few schools will send secondaries pre-verification, but most don't. I also took it in June last year, and I started pre-writing my secondaries by finding the prompts on SDN. If you do something like that you can be complete at all of your schools by sometime in August, which is still pretty much on the early side.

Late June MCAT (did well though), didn't submit AMCAS until 2 weeks later (wanted to carefully review and revise personal statement and activities, also because it took me forever to be write an essay that I was comfortable submitting), then it took me until septeber and october to submit my secondaries (I'm a terrible and meticulous writer). Got accepted by pretty good schools.

I feel that late June MCAT after junior year is the best time, because you could get your application in pretty early, or at least not late, and you have 2 months of dedicated study time.

Just to clear things up, your MCAT score has nothing to do with you getting verified; it's all about your transcripts.

This is correct. OP, just make sure to submit your amcas in June and get those transcripts and LOR's in early so everything is ready to go once your MCAT scores are released.

Yeah, as long as you have everything else done (i.e. can be "complete" at most schools within two or three weeks of receiving your score) you should be fine. Just make sure you don't procrastinate!

ahh sorry, my bad! thanks for correcting me. I guess you just won't be complete at your individual schools until the scores are released.
