Junior--do I have a chance?

I'm a female Junior English major with a minor in Biology. I've gone back and forth on going to dental school but recently have come to realize that dentistry is something I really want to do! My overall gpa is 3.58, and so is my science gpa. I've volunteered for about 50 hours at a local dental clinic that caters to low-income adults (and continue to do so) and I've shadowed a dentist from home a couple of times. My main extracurricular activity is a community service organization, and with them, have completed roughly 100 service hours. I have residency in Virginia, and was planning to apply to MCV and a couple of other private schools (BU, NYU, Tufts, UoP, Marquette).
Is there any chance for me to get in to dental school this cycle?

From what you've said, it seems like you have a good shot. Have you taken the DAT yet? If not, make sure you study for it and do well on it. And also your personal statement and LOR account for part of the application process as well. OH yeah, and APPLY EARLY!! Good Luck!

Just make sure you've taken all the required classes to get into the schools you're applying to and do well on the DAT and you should be golden.
