Any recommendations on what to do during this time? I'm planning on studying for the DAT's and complete my application during the first half and then do something productive the second half.

What did everyone else here do?

Submit AADSAS by June. Take DAT by July. Research, gain dental experience, and/or work while doing some volunteering.

APPLY EARLY! Submit DAT asap....before Fall Semester!

I did a summer program my junior year summer that helped me get ready for the DAT! So the application doesnt take long...just focus on knocking out the DAT!

GOOD LUCK!

btw...if you dont have your shadowing hours done DO THEM THEN!! So by the time your interviews come in.....they will know you have seen a GENERAL DENTIST in action! YOU NEED TO SHADOW A GENERAL DENTIST! Specialist are fine as well but I was told it is very important for you to shadow a general dentist in particular....

...Submitted application at the END OF MAY, studied for the DAT from the time school ended until mid June when I took it, then the next day started my internship in Oral Surgery!!! Good luck!
