I don't understand the first part of your question but as for emphasis on EC's, yes I would imagine pharmacy schools place just as much emphasis on them as any other professional school.

like if i cannot take organic until my second year how do i take the pcat (which has some organic) by mid-fall which is what they ask...am i supposed to study organic indepently? or do they just expect you to take longer than 2 years?

hope that clears up my question a little

So you are an undergraduate student then? Pharmacy schools do not expect undergraduates to have completed all of the pre reqs by their second year in college. Virtually all applicants take at minimum 3 years to complete the pre reqs because they are concurrently taking on the task of completing courses pertaining to their major. In fact, a trend I'm seeing in pharmacy schools (especially in California now) is that they are starting to require a B.S. of all of their applicants before they apply/enter the program. If I am understanding your Q correctly, you are trying to get all of your pre-reqs and the pcat completed by the end of your second year as an undergrad? That would be quite the accomplishment.

if you plan on completing your pre-reqs by end of sophomore year, it can be done but it is very intensive. in many cases, a lot of students load up on their courses throughout the semesters and take summer classes.

Yes you should study Organic independently if you plan on taking the PCAT before the class. Like other people posted, it typically does take longer than 2 years to get the pre-reqs done, though it is possible with hard work.
