Dental school sucks
It makes me become bitter and hateful person. I used to be a nice guy.
Some of the people here are pretentious, always have motive.
The worst 4 years of your life would be dental school.

And.... there is the bottom 10% from the "socially awkward" club. The problem is, if you think dental school is miserable, wait until you get hired and colleagues (including long time assistants) baby-and-push you around cause ur a fresh graduate.
You might be in the wrong profession if you are this sensitive to the B.S
and the type that I hate most is GUNNERS, esp the type who are applying to ORTHO. They even kiss my ass even I am their colleague. WTH?
Those people has no shame, kissing everyone's ass. How can you kiss ass every day? I don't understand. They cannot raise their voice when the faculty make the wrong comments.

i'm convinced.
OP just saved me a grip of cash!
Lol. Check your email in about 10 minutes.
Bitter, party of one?
Your table is now ready.

This is the game. This is a glimpse of what real life is like outside of the illusory reality that's been weaved around you in undergrad and high school.
My suggestion is to learn the game, or if you feel its not worth it, to move to a small city or town after graduation. Neither are bad choices. It all depends on your temperament and character.

( ; )I wish you warn me a few years ago. It's a little too late. I must move forward.
Why are you worrying about others' actions? Why not focus on your own effort?

a wise dental student once said 'keep calm and drill on'! 👍

This is why it's a good idea to work a full time job after college for a while before enrolling in a professional program. It gives you a dose of reality. Nothing is on a platter. Work sucks. Dental school sucks. Bills suck. A lot of the people in our population... suck. That's life! If you can't get around the sucky things in life, you're never going to have any fun.
You work to live, not live to work. Keep your head down, work hard, and enjoy the good times when they come around.

I can't +1 this enough.
I worked as a bartender for a couple years before starting dental school this fall (my wife was in medical school / couldn't find a better job in the small town's bad market).
While I enjoyed bartending, the hours were long and the pay sucked. You're treated poorly very often.
Having worked alongside numerous "career waiters", you know what other people do for a living. Dentistry is a thousand times better than what a majority of people do for a living.
Like I did in my masters program, I tend on treating dental school like a job. A 40+ hr/week job. I feel like this mindset alone sets you up for success.
Not to discourage predent. I said DENTAL SCHOOL sucks, not DENTISTRY. Ask everyone on dental town they will tell you that dental school is also the worst 4 years of their life.
And yeah, don't hook up with anyone in dental school. Rumors spread like wildfire. My mistakes on dating some girls who are friends with each other.

Well regardless of whether you had a negative experience in DS or not, life can only get better from this point on. Congrats on making it through!
