So I just sent in my AADSAS application a couple days ago and from reading this board it seems like I am extremely late compared to many other people. So I am wondering if I should still be okay for the upcoming cycle even though my stats are about average? Also, when will I start to get interviews (if I even do) since my app was passed in so late, like will I have a shot at getting an acceptance around the Dec. 1st time. Thanks for all the help.

You're fine. Most of us on this forum that have already been on interviews and are receiving material from dental schools were really early in getting our applications out. I would say that if you were to submit your application at the end of November or mid-December then you would be late. Just give AADSAS a few weeks to process your information and get it out to your schools and then you should start receiving secondary applications. Best of luck!

and there are some schools that have not even issued out ivterviews yet. You could still get into the early pile from a couple of them.

Do you have a shot at the Dec 1 acceptance...

Let's say you applied on Sep 1. AADSAS sends your app out to the schools in early Oct. School gets your app on Oct 10. Then they take 3 weeks to process it. Now it's Nov 1. They really like what they see. There is NO secondary for this school. So your app is complete and they offer you an interview. Let's say you accept the interview and schedule for Nov 14. You knock them dead with your interview (well hope you don't literally or the eval won't be completed). They offer on Dec 1!!!

So it is possible!!!

The above scenario IMO is the best case one. If there is a 2ndary involved, then I don't think Dec 1 is likely. Also, I'm also assuming you don't have inside connections with adcoms (because if you do that will expedite the process). Typically, there will be longer delays than this and you'll push out to Dec interviews. It also depends heavily of course on your application.
