Just curious if I should retake my DAT

I took my DAT back in august but I am debating if I should retake or not. I just submit my application this morning and felt like I should've waited rather than submitting.

BIO 17
CH 24
OC 20

I don't these scores are high enough for me to get in even though they are the avg for most schools. So just tell me what you think. Thanks

honestly, i think your scores are fine. the only one i would be worried about is the 17 in bio, but again, your other sciences help balance it out a bit. your 17 in QR is not that much of an issue, since many schools consider this the LEAST important section.

with that said, if you just submitted your application this morning, you may have some trouble getting in this cycle. is your GPA and the rest of your application solid? if so you may be able to get a few interviews even this late in the cycle. my advice if you don't get in this year, is just to submit early next year (may or june) and you should have no problem getting into a school. i don't really think a retake is necessary in your case...unless your GPA is very very low.

Definitely do not retake. Good scores. Like they said above me the only one thats kinda bad is the bio because it is a science but I think you should be cool as long as your GPA isnt too low. Whats the GPA?

thanks for the advice guys. My cum gpa is 3.45 and sci is 3.36. B.A. Chemistry and Biology minor.

Yeah, I did so horrible on biology cause I didn't look at any histology slides and my test had a lot of it. It also had a lot of ecology/plant questions with pictures.

histology slides? what are those???? eee...didn't see any of that in the kaplan book...or when I took the DAT in April...

I think youre in pretty good shape. I like most did not have any histology slides on my DAT ... I did however have several plant bio type questions. The only figures I had were identification of specific cell organelles which werent too bad.

yeah i had a few diagrams with plant vegetation in a hierarchy from the bottom of the mountain to the top. It gave me a picture and ask me to locate a sporangia, a kinetochore, and the tata box in transcription. It caught me off guard. I wish I looked into it. Also, I got pianoed but it wasn't so bad.

dont retake the dat. scores are fine. only thing that could hold you back is just now submitting your app. I had several slides on my test too

You're straight with those scores and GPA. Don't need to retake, unless you are not just trying to get into any school.
