The interactive cases are a piece of cake. I don't think I managed each one perfectly, but the diagnosis is always straightforward. Sometimes it stops you before time is up, I think because you "solved" it. Other times I thought I had pretty much done everything, and the clock kept running, so I guess there were some things I was missing.

The multiple choice questions are of course absurd, it seemed like there were always multiple good answers or no good answers, but that's the USMLE for you.

"crush step 3" is truly a worthless book. First Aid for Step 2 would have been more helpful. Q bank questions are rather similar to the actual test but, in general, a little more straight forward.

What did you score on Q-Bank?

Typically between 60-75. Way down from Step 1 Q bank where I was stroking 80-90, but let's face it, who the hell cares what the score on Step 3 is.

Hi

I took step 3 earlier this year, and I agree that the cases were generally very easy. Practicing at home with the simulator also makes a big difference. I looked at Crush Step 3 very quickly and thought it was decent, but probably the best way to prepare for this test is by doing questions.

I want to register through another state to take step 3 because the state where I am doing my internship requires 10 months of internship first. Any advice on how to go about doing this? Thanks

Talk to your grad education coordinator, or go to www.fsmb.org and see if they have info.

It may be possible.

I just took Step 3 today. I thought the cases were fairly easy. I wish some of the "action" words told what they actually did before you order them. I ordered "educate safety" for a child and it "notified the proper authorities of domestic violence". LOL! The exam itself was long and tiresome. I thought the questions were going to be mainly internal med, but I had a lot more questions on other specilaities than I expected. I thought 70% of the questions were on the same level as Q-Bank, with the other 30% being a lot more difficult. Crush Step 3 helped refresh my memory on a lot of stuff. But, the questions on Step 3 were more detailed than Crush Step 3 alone presented.
