JUST GOT ACCEPTED INTO JAMP (Joint Admission Medical Program)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was accepted this year as well, but I think that my science GPA might go a little below the requirement after this semester so now I am scared of losing my spot :'(
Don't get too worried about it Kitty but also don't get too comfortable. That same thing happened to a friend of mine last year but she is still in the JAMP program. They put her on probation for a semester and when her grades came back up she was fine. You just have to prove to them that those grades are not your best at all and that you can do so much better. During your fall semester you will have to make much better grades (like as much A's as humanly possible). Don't take on too many classes because that just looks overzealous and can also be overwhelming but do your absolute best in the classes that you do take. What classes are you taking next semester?

Thanks for making me feel better! But yeah, I have never had this problem before. Organic chem has been the death of me. Next semester I am taking biochem & lab, biostats, intro to sacred scriptures, and US history 1. What about you?

You're welcome and yeah O-chem was killer for us all 😛
I'm taking Physics & lab, Cell Molec & lab, & research. but your schedule looks good. The hardest thing on there is probably your biochem class, but you already know that...

Does anyone know why people who were kicked out of the program were kicked out?

As far as I know, the students can get kicked out for making <17 on MCAT or not meeting the cutoffs on their second attempts.

Hey everyone! I know this thread is old but I figured there might be some current JAMPers who were following it or reading it. I am going to TCOM this summer (actually on Monday) and I was just wondering what to expect while I am there. Any help would be awesome!!

Have fun wasting taxpayer dollars on socials. :greedy:
Some people are very blessed to be in this program and work their @sses off to work 2 jobs while going to school full time... so we aren't wasting taxpayers dollars. You should get your facts straight before you make blind accusations such as this.

That was not what I was referring to. I disagree with what the program spends money on...Ex. fancy full course dinners, alcohol, etc.
Unfortunately, some aren't as grateful as you are to be accepted. Good luck.
