well, what do you guys think? 👍 ?? 👎 ??

Oh yeah and last year it was my 3rd year and I got interviews in Canada like at uoft but didnt get in 🙁

Join the club (traumatic U of T experience 🙁)! You should've added NYU to the list as you'll probably get in w/o an interview. Your list looks pretty good as you have all the privates covered. You'll love Case as they're pretty Canadian friendly! Oh yeah, sick carving score!

hey, are you being seriouse about NYU? i mean the actually accept people with out an interview!??

u of t! i dono what else they wanted from me! lol

nice dat scores by the way!

Just out of curiosity... how is the carving score scaled on the Canadian DAT? What do you have to do? I kinda wish we still had that section just to see how I would do.

Scores are derived from percentiles.

You are given a bar of SOAP (not chalk) and design to interpret. You need to carve specific designs in to the 0.5mm.

Here are some photos I found on google: http://www.freewebs.com/ubcpredent/dat pics/carving.jpg

well before I got that score I wish we didnt have it, i dono why youd wish for an extra section on the dat lol but anyways, its simple you just have to show that you have enough dexterity skills to carve a soap (originally in shape of a cylinder) into something very specific. So they will give you a 2d image (I cant remember if there was a 3d image too) of what they want and the measurments for it in milimeters. They are expecting to see the correct overall shape, exact measurments, and smoothness of flat surfaces and 90degree angles. oh and of course the soap should not be damaged. hope this helps.

here is a picture of the tools your are supplied with and the soap.

the soap should not be damaged.

That's the most important part. I just remember some poor guy freaking out at how his soap broke 👎 . I think I'd rather have carving than an organic chemistry and math component as I scored not too bad on that myself 🙄 .

i totally agree! this is the only thing that is "easier" in canada. lol
