I have a solid 3.0 gpa right now. I'm about to start my 2nd semester of Sophomore year (undergrad). I understand extra currics, shadowing dentists, letters of recommendation, doing well on the DAT, community service, being a lab assistant for research, all play a part in acceptance other than grades. I know dental schools like to see an upward trend of improving grades as well. Do I still have a chance at getting in? I am very worried about my grades as an undergrad right now. I know I still have time to improve, but still...

thanks.

Yeah, you got a shot! A 3.0 is a little low for having a great chance, but you are only a sophomore! You probably haven't even taken a lot of the prerequisite classes yet. Those are the most important. I would say focus on grades 1st. Try to get some community service and shadowing too though. The higher your grades are, the less you are able to have of extracurricular activities, research, and community service. Good luck!
