Hi. I am almost done with my associates in Allied Health. I am going to a 4 year university and want to do something medical. I am very interested in OB/GYN. Was wondering if anyone could tell me about how long it would take me after my associates. Also if anyone knew where i could find the pre-reqs? thank you!

The pre-reqs you need to get into medical school are listed on their websites. I don't know which schools you're interested in but they're typically listed under Admission Requirements. I'm not familiar with associates degrees...did you do all your gen. eds and will they transfer to your four year university?

These are the basic pre-reqs required by most med schools. There might be slight variations depending on school, so for that I would advice you to check the college website.

Completion of at least 90 semester or 135 term credits in an accredited college or university. Completion of eight semester or 12 term credits, including lecture and laboratory, with all grades at 2.0 or higher, in each of the following:

Biological Sciences
Inorganic Chemistry
Organic Chemistry
Physics (including mechanics, sound, heat, magnetism, electricity, and light)

Completion of six semester or nine term credits, with all grades at 2.0 or higher, in each of the following:

English
Behavioral Sciences (psychology, sociology, cultural or medical anthropology)

It is also recommended that students take courses in biochemistry and genetics. There is a fairly high likelihood that one semester of biochemistry and genetics will be added to the list of required courses within the next two years.

You are looking at about 10 years until you would be a fully licensed OB/GYN.

The AA will shorten years 1-4.
