I know currently only 2 states require residency programs prior to practicing. NY and DE.

However I am wondering how hard is it to find a job without a GPR/AEGD.

Not hard. Get to know people and you'll do fine. I've been offered jobs and I am not participating in any residency program. My school is unique in that we are sent out on 3-6 month extern rotations, which help to prepare....but the places that offered me jobs did not even know that. I think if your personality is a fit, and you can keep up, you will find a job.

It likely depends a lot on where you are looking for jobs, but where I am (in the midwest) they are practically begging more dentists to come here. It was pretty dang easy to find a job without a residency.

Im planning on going to school in the east coast and probably practicing in the state as well. I haven't thought about moving midwest to ty and find a job though.

Totally depends on the area you are looking at. The more desirable areas and private practice docs want more experience as a general rule. Many, but not all, practices in these areas require (or heavily push) 2 years experience or a GPR/AEGD to screen out fresh grads. But there are definitely plenty of areas and most corporates where a GPR/AEGD is not necessary at all. And of course, proper networking and personal relationships can get you in the door as well in any area without a residency.

🤣🤣

This is what the world has come to - basing decisions off of Google Reviews.

Lol, do you work with them? I mean sure Google reviews aren't 100% accurate but I don't want to get sucked in somewhere terrible.

Yeah I'm sure. But no way would I work for Aspen. They have a 1 star review.
