Heard a story today about "rude" interviewees. Just so you know, when you are visiting a school, be nice to everyone, including the students who talk to you and give you tours. Don't rely on your scores or grades to make up for common courtesy and personality. (Until a couple days ago I was pretty sure that most people understood this, but just for good measure I thought should warn ya.)

...right. Whoever has exhibited this type of behavior is far too full of themselves.

I tried to make a joke with the girl doing the financial aid presentation as we were walking somewhere. She and her husband, a D4, went to Oregon State, rivals of the U of Oregon. She was almost 8 years younger than me and looked like she had a sense of humor. So I say, "how to you get an OSU grad off your doorstep? Pay 'em for the Pizza!" Then she answers that HER husband is an OSU graduate and he is going to be a doctor next summer. Ouch. I should have just smiled and nodded.

Yikes, sense of humor is touchy I guess. I remember I botched one of my interviews making a sarcastic/nervous comment. I attribute it to verbal diarreah (sp?).
