Allright guys:

I retook the DAT today after being advised to do so, so here it is: 19/19/24😀

Old Scores / New Scores:
(8/7/06) / (1/23/07)

PAT: 24/21 (I didnt study for this at all this time around)
QR: 17/19
RC: 22/22
Bio: 18/20
GC: 17/18
OC: 17/18
TS: 18/19
AA: 18/19

Thoughts:

PAT: Last time around I did the Kaplan practice tests, but that was almost a year ago. Felt pretty confident going into it, but it was harder than I expected. The hole punches were harder than I expected for sure!

QR/GC/OC: Focused mostly on these sections as I wanted to bring these up from 17. I felt good about it although Orgo was pretty random I felt.

Bio: Didn't focus on this as much, but reviewed Campbell (textbook) as bio is 40 out of the 100 questions and will pull your TS up if it is one point above your GC/OC (as demonstrated in both of my scores)

I used: Kaplan Notes from the class, Achiever, Old Textbooks and Notes, Wikipedia, and Destroyer although I didn't get all the way through the sections. I wish I had spent more time on Destroyer for sure.

I defintely thought the DAT was harder this time around, I agree with just about 100% of Jack Bauer's recommendations here.

You can read my rant about the dry erase boards here

All right, thats my story and I'm sticking to it...

Burton out!

In response to your "dry erase board rant" ... maybe they changed it due to cheating. But from those who've described the experience, it sounds really horrendous! Do you really think they're making the DAT a lot harder?

Great scores. The dry erase board has gotten me a little worried.

it sure seems like it. even dr. romano said that students that would've scored 22+ a few months ago are having a hard time breaking 20..... maybe it's just the luck of the draw??

jb!🙂

congrats jb on your new DAT score. Romano helped me out too. Hope this helps you get into UF or wherever you want to go.

Congrats!

I have question .

Is it true that you can't use calculator on DAT??

Please reply I am NEw

oh man, the dreaded question. I remember the days when i was asking the same question. I'm afraid that i will be the one delivering the bad news to you my friend: no calculators can be used on the DAT. Start cranking out the math with paper and pencil!

or rather dry erase board and marker as nancy suggests

how thick were the markers for the dry erase board? they dont give you the big thick ones, do they?

what BS man, i called them today and asked if they had thin or thick ones. the a-hole at prometric was like "it depends on your luck." this really sucks! 🙁 im re-taking next friday, im stressed out as it is!

your scores didn't improve all that much. what did you think you did wrong?

I was just wondering why you retook the test. Your scores seemed to be right at or a little above the average scores of getting in.

Congrats on your retake. You're done. 👍

As far as I heard about the dry-erase boards, I called my test center up this afternoon to ask her if she could clarify about the dry-erase board and marker situation, and the lady was like, " I can't tell you anything. You will have to see when you get here. It's a laminated board..." 😱

18 is a good score on the DAT, but that 19 is even better. You won't have to take that test anymore. Congrats on your hard work paying off. The DAT is the least of your worries now.
