So I finally decided to schedule my DAT test. I'm due on June 4th. This was the earliest date with enough time to review everything and be prepared. So I'll explain my situation. Feedback and any advice would be much appreciated!

I'm about 2.5 weeks into my studying. I really cracked down on Chad's vids/quizzes for Ochem and Gen Chem. I made notecards per section, took his quizzes a little more than 2 times each. I'm midway in the DAT Destroyer. I'm doing pretty well with the Ochem section (missing 6-8 questions out of 30 a day) and really absorbing the ones I missed.

However, the first 80ish questions on the Gen Chem, I was getting murdered. However, after going thru some of the explanations on the ones I missed, I did another 32 questions today and did better than my previous. I'm finally starting to find out what most questions are asking (either that or the questions tend to be a little easier as you progress 😕)

I just started reading AP Cliffs 2 days ago, only reading 1 chapter a day. I stopped making notecards after cells because some of this stuff I already know. Maybe I should just read this thing like a book instead of taking notes???

I'll be ordering Topscore, CDP, Datqvault most likely tomorrow. I'll probably be banging out the practice tests the last 2 weeks of studying.

I'm thinking of starting Math Destroyer and the Bio section after I make my first round of Ochem/Gen chem (so I'll be on my 2nd round of Ochem/Gen Chem and just starting the Bio sect and Math Destroyer)

Idk when to start CDP. I don't even know what to use for studying the PAT section! I've heard half/half opinions on PAT. Some say they wait later to start studying that section bc it's simple. Others have deemed it ridiculously hard and it's 'required' for the PAT to be studied from day 1.

And don't get me started on RC. I'm hearing too many conflicting things, but mostly people saying there's no program out there for it. It's just practice from the practice tests. So I'm thinking about saving RC for last, when I start my practice tests.

Whew ok so that's the run down of my situation. A few questions:

1. Since I'm taking my DAT right after the first day the portal opens, how long will it take for my DAT scores to be sent to my schools?

2. My prehealth-advisor told me to submit my AADSAS application when I get my score. However, he (and the committee) have my LORs and I still have yet to be evaluated by them. If I submit my AADSAS, how would I send in my LORs? Also, would the committee letter still be sent later despite me submitting my application prior to my mock interview.

3. I met with my #1 choice school and admissions yesterday. The person told me to send everything as a whole and not 'bits and pieces'. Should I still submit my AADSAS right when I get my score, or should I wait for my school Committee and send EVERYTHING as a whole?

I'm more concerned getting first batch. Admissions told me she would highly recommend applying early to be first batch if anything and just kill the DAT. So, any suggestions?

I'm really sorry for typing so much. I have a frap with 4 shots in me and I'm stressing too much over the application process, my now scheduled DAT, and finals for my upper division bios next week :boom:

Thanks in advance everyone

Some people on SDN stress 1st batch, others say you're golden as long as it's sent in June.

Did she verbatim say 1st batch?

Alright let me see if I can help you out a bit b/c you sound uber stressed lol.

Study for your finals. Your grades are just as important as your future DAT scores. But if you take the DAT June 4th, this leaves you with 3 weeks to study?? Just make sure you are scoring where you should a week before the exam.

My recommendation:

Take a step back and make a schedule for yourself or else you will have piles of material to study and have no clue where to start.

If you are taking your exam June 4th, I advise you to start studying for the PAT now. I honestly was doing horrible at it at first (and I really mean horrible) but after doing CDP, you do so many examples that you kind of get the gist of it and now I fly through the sections and am scoring really well.

How to study for PAT: I would take the test first and the next morning I would go over my answers and made sure why the answer I put down was wrong. At least for me, after test 5 it was uphill from there.

Studying for the Sciences: I don't know how much time a day you dedicate to studying. I do about 7-10 hrs a day...but not on weekends 😀 Try reading a few chapters of Cliffs, do notecards, and then do Chads videos, and answer questions for any section you like. Next day, switch it up and see what you can handle. Take it day by day.

About submitting your application: You here so much about 1st batch, second batch..blah blah...make sure you turn your stuff in by June. That is early. I spoke to an admission rep from the school I really want to go to and they said that once you submit your application via AADSAS, it takes about 7 weeks to process so they receive all your stuff in July..that's why the earlier you can send your stuff in the better. They will not look at an incomplete file so if you send in everything at once, that's even better.

Sorry for the lengthy response but I hope it's a bit helpful. I'm taking my DAT around the same time you are so I'm crossing my fingers for the both of us. Best of luck!

This definitely helped. Thanks!

Yea I'm getting more stressed as each day goes by. I guess I'll start CDP right when I order. For the sciences, I'm just doing the big 3 for almost 7-10 hours a day, same as you. Except I include weekends haha.

Also, thanks for the heads up on the AADSAS response. Goodluck!!

Same to you! 🙂
