So I was wondering if 3.78 puts me out of the running for any schools.

Keeping your GPAs above the matriculant averages of US MD schools is a good goal. Last year they were cGPA 3.69 and BCPM of 3.63. If you do indeed apply with a 3.78, you'll be in a good place where no med school will auto-screen you out.
