ok so,

i just want to make sure that i understand all of this correctly...

-You can take the DAT whenever you want
-You have to wait 90 days before you can sign up for another DAT exam
-It is recommended that you take the DAT up to 3 times?

Is all of this correct?

Thanks guys.

Almost. Nobody recommends to take the DAT 3 times. The idea is you do well on the first shot.

r u premed??

Anyways 3-4 dat trys is normal. Numerous colleagues of mine have actually used previous dats as practice for their 4th one, which is the one that actually counts =] i hope this is helpful!!

seriously. what kind of advice is that?? aside from them recommending to take it NO MORE than three times, who would want to put in all that time and $800 to take it four times??? don't listen to him. get 'er done the first try if you can.

L.o.l.

oh also, premed, these guys probably dont want you to know, but if you take the DAT more than once, you can add your scores to get over 30 in each category! good luck!!

Yeah, I did that, and I have 44 AA, and a 40 TS. 🙂

No seriously, trolling like this is a great way to ruin a forum.

Either answer correctly or don't answer at all.

You sort of contributed just now.

To the OP: Most take the DAT once. Some take it twice. Rarely, people take it three times. With a school's approval, you are allowed to take the DAT a 4th try.

So, taking it once or twice is the norm.

well, to be honest, this thread itself really has no merit. someone who can not spend the extra 30 seconds to go to the ADA site and read the information they have there but instead asks a question on a peer based forum deserves to have their thread trolled all over. it's not like the information he's asking for is super elusive or anything. in fact just to prove how easy it is to find this information i just googled DAT, first link brings you to ADA site, first pdf on the page, a quick read and all the questions OP asked were answered. litterally took less time to do that than starting a new post and waiting for people to respond.
