As much as we all want that acceptance letter, a rejection is not the end of the world. When i hear of all the horrible things that people go thru on a day to day basis i'm almost ashamed of feeling anxious over waiting for MCAT scores or interview invites or acceptance letters.

Nothing is worse than the death of a loved one and hearing news like that all too often just puts this all in perspective.

People dream of being a doctor as the ultimate but until things you take for granted are taken away from you, then you realize what the real dreams are.

Also a rejection isn't as bad as having someone drop a desk on your foot. You may disagree but if you do then I think that you have never had a desk dropped on your foot. Getting poked in the eye can be worse than a rejection but it depends on the severity of the poke. Getting rejected from every school you apply to is probably worse than both of these things but i don't think it's as bad as having your hand frozen in liquid nitrogen and then melted with fire while having darts soaked in hydrogen peroxide and salt thrown into your back.

...creative one.

but it is true. when you think of it in terms of bigger issues, the thought of receiving a rejection can seem pretty rosy compared to living through a famine or a war.

Do you dream of these things? Should you perhaps consult people who can "help" you? Sounds like you've spent a lot of time thinking up torturous acts.

this wasn't intended as a joke....

I am going to have to say hung, drawn, quatered beats everything. Thats like getting racked plus the bonus.

He said "getting racked"(aka the modern skateboarding torture), not "the rack"(the medieval torture). 😀

Like I said in a previous thread there are a lot of bad things:

Getting stuck on a planet with a mugato.

Getting stranded on the deserts of Tatooine with a bunch of tuskin sand raiders converging on you.

Getting carbon frozen because there's a bounty on your head.

Sticking your hand in a gom jabbar when you are not the kwisatz hadderach. Imagine that, dying if you fail a test.
