If you look on the offcial guide to dental schools, most private schools state that they will not discriminate against national origin, race, residence etc. So your stats should be the only thing that matters as long as you meet their requirement. In fact, looking at predents.com you will also find that these schools accept a wide range of students, some accepte up to 80 to 90% out of states.
Be careful though, some schools have requirements where you must attend 4 yr university from U.S. or Canada.
In general, as an international student myself, I've found that they are indeed a rare breed when it comes to applying to d-school because:
-they have no residence, therefore almost no chance to be accepted by state schools.
-some schools do not take international students.
-some schoosl require transcript from u.s./canadian universites.
-their numbers are few to begin with.
-Professional degree like D.D.S. is usually not recognized in their own contries.
-if they do attend university in america, language barrier is still nontheless hard to overcome.
