What you think guys? My goal is UOP. I studied about 2.5 months with kaplan, destroyer, topscore, and achiever. I spent around 20-30hrs a week studying. I am worried about my Bio, which I thought kaplan did not sufficiently prepare me for, and also my PAT. I know UOP looks highly on PAT, so do you guys a 19 would be sufficient?
Any opinions appreciated, and I'll gladly answer some of your questions.

Comments:
1) Destroyer really prepared me for O chem, and I thought that combined with Kaplan's blue book is enough to prepare you.
2) Achiever PAT is way harder than the real thing.
3) TopScore is quite close to the real exam, even though I was scoring much higher in the Bio and PAT.
4) Don't bother memorizing everything in the Kaplan's blue book. I felt that taking practice tests is what helped me the most.

Congrats Teethy!
You should be fine for UoP. I had the same PAT and was accpeted. Ofcourse there are other factors into an application - Just apply early - that is the KEY!
Best of luck!😀

You rock with your scores, they are definitely some awesome scores. Dental school next year for sure.

Q1) did u study everything at the same time or subject by subject?
Q2) which one helped you more, destroyer or kaplan?
Q3) Were you pretty comfortable with the subjects before the 2.5 months?

Thanks.

those are solid scores, dont retake. good luck with your application.

1) I studied subject by subject in the beginning, following kaplan's blue book. But once I started taking practice exams, my studying was all over the place.
2) I would say destroyer helped me alot in the sciences, and kaplan was there to reinforce and clear things up for me.
3) I haven't taken o chem or g chem for over a year before I started studying, so I had to really refresh my mind on those subjects. However, I did do well in those classes, and they were some of my favorite courses as an undergrad. I had a weak biology background, only taken 2 quarters of bio, so I am sure most people would do better. RC and math I was naturally good at so I didn't study those too much. I had no experience with PAT before and pretty much taught myself everything when studying.

QR is just high school math. The level of difficulty on the actual exam is not hard at all. It is the amount time that you get while doing them is what make it hard. I would recommend pacing yourself when you do practice exams and work on timing. A math question should not take you longer than 2 minutes to solve, if so, guess. The questions dont go from easy to hard on the exam, they are very random.

what's your gpa like? you have a very good shot at getting in somewhere but i'm sorry to say uop may be a stretch since their average DAT scores are running somewhere in the neighborhood of 21-22

Doesn't Destroyer have an extensive amount of Biology? How did you do so "averagely" with Destroyer?

Destroyer did have an extensive amount of biology, but it is not a book that will tell you what the DAT is going to ask. Bio questions on the DAT were very random, most I have never seen before. I would say Bio is probably the hardest part to study since it is so broad, and if you depending on destroyer for this section it is going to be tough unless you have a good bio background, which I did not have.

I have just above a 3.5 now and have a lot of extracurricular activities. Shadowing, volunteering, research – many hours in all of these, I’ll spare you the details.
