I just took the DAT on Friday and my scores are 18 Bio, 21 G chem, 18 O chem for a score of 19 on sciences. A 19 on PAT, 17 on CR, and 18 on QR. I got an 18 overall. I have a 3.6 GPA and am wondering if i am a candidate for dental school this year? Please help!

imo apply to about 15 schools and you will get in assuming you have the ECs.

GOOD LUCK
😀

I think you have a good chance but I bet some schools will tell you to retake as well. I think you should apply to 20 for the best chance to get in w/o the retake.

Congratulations!
Your GPA/DAT are around the national averages for accepted students.

Assuming you went to a 4 yr US university, you are definitely a candidate, now focus on the other ~40% of your application and prepare to apply!

I think these are good grades. you should not have problem getting in to the schools you want. Do you remember your RC topics?

My RC topics were really dense! I had one one drugs and how they affect dopamine and seratonin levels. The next was on anaerobic vs aerobic exercise and how it effects the body and psychological behavior. My last topic was on cancer cells and how it is inherited through the body. I struggled while i consistently got 20 or better on practice tests! That was frustrating. 😕

as long as you did something besides go to school and go home and study then you should get in. I hope you did more than just a couple clubs on campus or a fraternity too though. That's not a lot of work. Homework and club meetings...woo...who CAN'T do that and get good grades.

Assuming you worked and have good strong letters of rec yes you will get in. Apply to boston, tufts, creighton, vegas and maybe ucla with those grades man.
