so I just took the DAT today after ~2.5 months studying my head off (as I'm sure you can all sympathize with)

my scores:
PAT 18
QR 17
RC 25
BIO 20
GC 20
ORGO 22
TS 20
AA 21

do you guys think a retake is necessary?
undergrad GPA is 3.75
I'm just kind of lost in terms of determining whether or not these scores are good or not.

hoping to not have to retake! any thoughts?

Overall, your DAT scores are those of the average matriculant. Your GPA's above average. Your QR is the lowest score, but it's weighted less compared to other sections by adcoms. Nice RC score tho! You'll be fine! I would apply to 10-15 schools if I were you, more if your ECs are lacking.

nice scores!!
How long did you study for and what materials did you use?
studied for almost three months I would say, but the first month I just focused on bio because that was my lowest score by FAR.
in the last month or so I used Bootcamp, which I think was a great indicator of the actual difficulty of the test and definitely helped my RC and Bio scores.
my GC was the lowest it's been on the actual test which is a bummer

Congratulations! I see no reason to retake the DAT with your scores and GPA. You must remember only a handful of students post scores on SDN. I work with hundreds of students each year and your scores are just what dental schools like to see. Make sure you have a very strong personal statement to go along with your application and I see no reason you will not receive interviews. If you have a dream school then why not contact them with your stats.

Wishing you the best!

Nancy
