Took my DAT today, part happy part sad.

Overall 24
Science 23
QR 28
RC 22
Bio 22
Chem 27
OChem 21

but...

PAT was only 18

I swear I was getting higher on practice tests but the angle rankings...

Anyways my situation is that I'm one of those post grads who did acceptable (3.0) for my degree in CS and decided to go back to school to try for dental.
My science GPA now is 3.69 (bio, chem and physics courses only). I guess my question is that yes i know its late and I should have applied earlier but I'm applying for this cycle. How much does PAT count in my review process?

I know you guys get asked these questions all the time but isnt that what this board is for?

thanks in advanced...

oh yeah ps I SWEAR that these are my actual scores. Not like I didnt study but damn...I wasnt expecting that.

Congrats. I wouldn't worry about a thing. Of course it's getting later into the cycle. Make sure you send the unofficial results to the schools right away.

Definitely apply... just get it done asap. But I'm 100% sure that you'll hear from at least a few schools...if not every single one you apply to... with those scores. A PAT of 18 is good... i wouldn't sweat that at all. Dental schools don't take PAT as seriously as the Avg. or the Total Science. A buddy of mine didn't apply until the end of Oct. a few years ago. He had a 22 DAT and got into every school... UF, UPenn, Tufts, Boston. How the hell did you get a 28 on QR... that's amazing. You're a freakin human calculator

Yes...fax them in right away. If you don't have some of the schools fax #'s post and we'll find them for you. Good luck.

Agreed, you are in to most schools even this late, fax away baby! let us know how we can help!

We are here to help, because it is Friday night, and we have nothing better to do than hang out, drink half a bottle of wine, watch football with our dogs, and post on SDN...at least this Friday night🙂 No, we would help anyway🙂

Rayray, I would say that you MIGHT have a chance, probably at Columbia though. Their DAT scores are a bit higher than you, but you're in their ballpark. Their average scores are about 29 in all sections, but they might forgive your "low" 18 on PAT. :::sarcasm::: sigh, TGIF.

P.S., you aren't applying to enough schools, why not make it 54 schools?

rayray....I have experience with UOP, Nova and ASDOH of the schools that you are applying for. UOP and Nova, fax away to the number listed. ASDOH said don't bother b/c they would have to wait for the official scores anyway, so I didn't fax to ASDOH.

Thank you for not applying to UF!

i wouldnt waste time with case

Good god man (or woman)! 😱 Have fun with the secondaries :meanie:

hey I wasnt expecting to get a 24. I was more expecting 20 thus the amount of schools.

Yeah Case is already full!

IU has given out all there interviews, you may have a shot but probally low, Nova doesn't even really care about the PAT.
