did any of you interview at boston and tufts and walk from one school to the other? I checked that it's only a mile from each other, but is it safe?
Where did you guys stay at?

Yeah, I was in Boston and the distance between the two schools is quite short. However, I drove between the schools. In terms of safety, I think you should just be extra vigilant when you're in a new city as a rule of thumb.

By the way, are you Vietnemese?

You've been to Tufts and BU? Which school do you think is better clinically? Overall? Any opinions would be great!

The schools really aren't that far from each other, and I have done the walk by myself during the day. There are usually plenty of people around but do stay alert. A taxi should cost all that much and I think the 49 bus runs up Washington street and is just a few blocks from each school if money is an issue.

I agree with Neeky -- Tufts has a much better reputation than BU, not just in Boston but also in New England as a whole. I have met a few dentists in the area and they all seem to be very enthusiastic about Tufts and rated it clinically better than BU. Also I have 'heard' that Tufts has better reputation with residency programs compared to BU. I must mention though that most dentists I encounter here are all from Tufts so there might be a selection bias.
As an aside I find cost of living in Boston to be atrocious and the landlords plain obnoxious to deal with. 😡
