Hey everyone,
I recently got admitted to a few schools, and I've narrowed it down between Kansas-COM and WCU-COM. I'm having some trouble choosing which one to commit to.
Kansas-COM
Pros:
* Larger City
* more future opportunities
* happier
* Newer facilities
* Likely to have great affiliations due to localation
* Involved faculty
Cons:
* Newer medical school (3rd incoming class)
* Pre-accredidation
* Virtual anatomy
* Rotation experiences unknown
* possible OOS rotations (CA, NV, AZ)
* Unknown pass rates
WCU-COM
Pros:
* Established school
* High board pass rates
* Live anatomy/cadaver labs
Cons:
* Deep south
* Smaller town
* Older school/facilities
* More OMM focus
I've been leaning more towards Kansas-COM due to how happy I think I'd be in the area. Although I am a bit wary of the newer status, I'm convinced that the school will have bettter rotations before I start my clinical years. I'd love some input on the schools and what I should be looking at!
