I am resisting the urge to email. I feel like they must be getting overwhelmed by all the requests. However, I'm losing faith in our SDN insider knowledge ha ha because as a collective group we seem to have very little idea when the letters were sent!

*sigh* I really want to know. Could emailing change their decision?😱
 
I'm in the same group, I just e-mailed them too because I just can't take this anxiety anymore. I don't think emailing will change their decision because the letters are already on their way here. The same thought crossed my mind, but then I realized that they already decided whether or not they liked me. The only downside of emailing them now is that they may have caught on to the fact that we all know that they will tell you if you email them so they may stop responding to the email requests...damn it.

I didnt frame it so much as... tell me what the decision was. Here is the email

"I was just emailing to see when decision letters were being mailed out. I am going out of town for the next few days and I will plan on telling a family member to come check my mail for me if they are possibly going to come in that time frame."

Which is true bc I am leaving for an interview tomorrow and will be gone until Saturday. So maybe if they don't tell me the status they will at least tell me when they were mailed.
 
I'm with you. I don't want to make them think I'm an impatient person, but at the same time this is killing me! :scared:

Me too. First it was Friday, then Monday, now Tuesday that letters were mailed. Maybe too much "insider info" is making this worse for all of us.
 
ah! I was doing so well, but now that other people know... I want to know!!! Also, I'm not going out of town and have complete access to my mailbox for the next 3 weeks.... sigh.... I think if those that just posted get responses... I'll email!

I only emailed because I am trapped in a different place by the snow and am going out of town this weekend. I wanted to cancel interviews based on Kansas's decision, but because of the snow I wont be able to find out if they dont answer me.
 
Just letting you guys know, I'm from Kansas City, and I JUST got my acceptance letter!! They come in a big manilla envelope, so be on the look out!
 
omg! That's so confusing! I'm in St. Louis? Maybe it'll have made it here too?!?! Also, I heard they came in small envelopes which is really gonna freak me out when I go to the mailbox now! AH!!!!😱
 
i always thought the general rule was certified/large envelope good, smaller regular letter bad?
 
Yes, of course. But asked a few days ago on this blog and ppl said small. But... who knows! I just want an envelope... good news or bad news.
 
Around this time next year, the poor class of 2015 applicants are going to look at the acceptances thread and have no idea whether the notifications come by phone, email, letter, or tornado mail (hey, it's Kansas so who knows?).

It sounds like the actual letters are starting to make their way out from Kansas though, so hopefully this will be the last day or two of fruitless mailbox-stalking for those of you who are waiting. Good luck, everyone!!

Last year they went through the entire waitlist and then some...so don't worry! You have a great shot. 🙂

Wow, Ms. Ritter is so fast to respond to emails. 20 minutes after i sent her the email asking about acceptance, she responded that letters went out Tuesday and I have a position (it's a universal email that she sends to anyone that asked) so I would suggest emailing her if youre like the rest of us that can't wait any longer. Woo, i'm in too:laugh:. Good luck everyone, it looks like the official letters will get to all of us by tomorrow if some got them today.

what email address did you use?? I sent KSU admissions an hr ago and I havn't heard a response yet...
 
I sent the email directly to marcina ritter and she responded within 30 minutes that letter were sent out Tuesday and that she could tell me that I had a spot in the class of 2014!!!

ugh no mail in Oklahoma. I want to e-mail but I'm forcing myself not to!

I haven't gotten the chance to open an envelope yet (my mizzou acceptance was sent to my parents house 🙁)

However I don't know why I'm so excited since I'm declining Kansas either way... (I loved the school by the way, for future applicants!! it's just about the money)
 
does anyone know how many ppl KSU accepts versus how many they waitlist?

FYI I got my acceptance in a small envelope....so....maybe they hadn't gone envelope shopping yet? 😀
 
I just sent an email. I couldn't take it anymore. Hopefully she responds! Till then I'm glued to my inbox!
 
Send your emails directly to Marcina ([email protected]), or you can be as annoying as I was and send one to her email address AND one to [email protected]. Either way, she responded to me using her personal email address, so that should be the way to go
 
hmmm...I sen her an e-mail at her personal email like an hour a half ago and havent heard anything...interesting

this is worse than being a kid and waiting for christmas to come around to open presents, but i'm not going to email and wait it out a few more days. if it's a rejection, i would rather see it on a piece of paper than email. 🙄 :luck:
 
Congratulations guys!!!

K-state goes through the waitlist because of the amout of OOS students they accept-roughly half the class is OOS spots, but alot of those people appiled to 5-10+ schools (since many are OOS everyplace and want to improve their chances). Anyway they expect that many students will then turn their offer down because of the amount of schools they applied to. Last year they went through the whole waitlist, and by then (May-June) most people had decided on another school, so they ended up calling some applicants that were not originally offered interviews.
 
thanks guys!!! I have no idea where I'll go...I'm still pulling for Hogwarts, but if that owl doesn't come soon, I'm gonna have to resort to a dartboard, or a hat, or a psychic! THATS IT! I'm gonna go get my fortune told to have them tell me where they see me haha (for those of you unable to read internet sarcasm- that was it)

I just picked up the phone and asked. ACCEPTED!!!!

Its going to be hard to study for my Animal Physiology test tomm. Its not even required lol

Congrats to everyone accepted!! It looks like some of you have some decisions to make too (lauraUVA2009 and lalzi22)!
I was telling myself good things come to those who wait, but I finally broke down and sent her an email. My wishful thinking is that this way I can wake up to news since I have class late tomorrow and they are 2 hours ahead of me:idea:
 
Grr, not only no letter in the mail today, but no mail at all today, so now I get to be all paranoid about the mailman losing things. I finally caved and emailed. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow to some good news.

I am sure every single one of you is more than qualified and would be an amazing vet!

On another note... i certainly dont want to jinx myself but I still have my IS school to hear from in mid-march and im reallllllyyyyyy hoping to be accepted and have the chance to give someone my spot! Thinking about OOS tuition gives me a tummy ache!
 
I'm in too!!!! 😀 (I'm in Oklahoma as well) I really honestly thought I was going to get waitlisted... so this was a nice surprise!

If it makes anyone waitlisted feel better I will probably be declining this spot. I really really like Kansas St., but since I got into a cheaper school, I kinda have to choose the cheaper school. It makes me feel bad though!

I loved driving up and seeing that huge manilla envelope sticking out of my tiny mailbox lol
 
Another day of no mail here....I think the anticipation is seriously affecting my health!! Whyyyyy do I have to live all the way in CA!!

This actually makes me feel better since there was NO mail in my mailbox today, junk included and I was getting super nervous since there have been some issues with mail theft in my neighborhood lately.
Yay for everyone starting to hear back, you get to be vets!
 
Whoohoo, I'm in too, baby!!! 😀 Like so many others here, it's gonna take a while to sink in, that I AM actually going to be a vet! And yeah, how the heck are we supposed to focus on anything else now? Can't we just take a six month vacation till mid-Aug?!

I knew to expect/hope for a large manila envelope. It was dark when I got home and as soon as I stuck my hand in the mailbox and felt a large envelope, my heart leapt. Then I pulled it out and saw it was manila with K-State logo, I just started giggling like a little girl. And I'm a 42 year old man. Then I had to go in and feed the pack and let them settle down whist I let the anticipation build. Damn good thing it was an acceptance and not "We regret to inform...", I would have died.

On, and for those still trying to put together clues for their own mail delivery, I live in San Diego area. I actually wasn't really expecting anything till Friday.

And, much as I loved K-State, I've still got my fingers crossed for Davis, my in-state. I think I could be happy at K-State, but Davis actually has a shelter med program I want, plus of course as my in-state it would save me probably upwards of $60K over four years. So, if I get in there, hopefully my K-State spot will go to someone here.

Has anyone from NC gotten a letter? This wait is driving me crazy but I am nervous to e-mail.
