Kaplan reads pretty dry to me. I bought the EK new set, acquired an old TBR set, and supplemented with a Kaplan Physics, Kaplan Biochemistry, and TPR Psych and Soc. Let me just say that this is a ton of books and I don't use all of them for everything and used EK for the most part and supplemented with the others as needed. EK is weak on Biochemistry and Psych so I purchased the other books and they did supplement well. EK gives a lighter review on most topics and focuses on high yield topics. TBR is great and more detailed if you've been out of classes for longer and need more in depth review. I'd recommend them personally if you have time and money (they're a bit of a pain to order), but really it depends on what you need to cover more. The TPR psych and soc book is really nice and I kind of wish I'd looked at their other books more because it seems a bit more detailed than EK but not as dense as TBR. Practice problems aren't as good as the others tho.
Really, it would be best if you could go to a used bookstore and look through them or look at the samples of the books on amazon so that you can see what style you like best. All of these sets will be enough to prepare you well, it's just what works best for you.
