Has anyone tried getting one of Kaplan's Admissions Consulting programs? They seem to be pretty expensive ($550 for 3 hour package and $1450 for 10 hour package). I know my essay writing and interviewing skills are kinda weak, so I was considering getting one of these programs. Does anyone know what they are like, and is it worth it for me to buy it?

I have a Kaplan consultant and so far it has been the only thing I like about Kaplan. My consultant is a MD resident, has served on Adcomm committees and is very encouraging. He took me through 7 drafts of my essay and has helped me with mock interviews and what committees are looking for when they ask certain types of questions. I recommend it.

i also recommend a good consulting service. it will probably be the best money you ever spend. dont pinch pennies and harbor regrets later. and in the long run a thousand here and there is pennies compared to whats at stake, your future. PM if you want. consulting in any form isnt bogus--they do business for a reason

Does anybody know if there is any chance for Kaplanology or Extracurriculumology to be incorporated into every existing curriculum from high school on? It would do everyone especially each premed soul an enormous favor, I guess. :meanie:
