So the consensus on this forum seems to be that Kaplan's bio section falls short of covering the material that can appear on the DAT, and that CliffsAP is a good purchase. After briefly comparing the two (using Kaplan 2004 edition), I am wondering in which sections does CliffsAP make a better option; endocrinology is almost non-existent, no brain, eye, ear anatomy, very brief explanation of muscular motion, etc. It's true that CliffsAP is easy to understand and explains things lucidly, but I can't help but feel that it's under-detailed. Of course, I will use other material to supplement my biology studies, just want to know why people think Cliffs is much better than Kaplan.
