Aldehyde is supposed to become carboxylic acid but before and after are the same. Do you guys think that either H or CH3 should become OH in that picture?

it says carboxylic acid and ammonia combine and should become amides but the final product shows carbonyl group attached to ONH4.
OH should be a leaving group and final product should be carbonyl group attached to NH3 instead of ONH4.

Hey Joon, I'm not sure which version of the Kaplan blue book you have, but my version (2007-2008), does actually show that an aldehyde is being oxidized to a carboxylic acid. Hope that helps.
