First off let me just inform everyone I am going to a carribean school this May so I will be an IMG writing the step 1.

Soo.. my question is, does it make sense to buy a set of kaplan review books right now and go through them along with my coursework? I am sure the kaplan review books + lecture notes should be able to get me to pass all my classes, but will I be missing out by substituting textbooks with kaplan books?

Also, will I just be killing myself?

I spoke to two friends..

Friend A said to get the Kaplan books and go through them along with coursework so that they are more familiar come step 1 time or at least get kaplan med essentials and go through that.

Friend B said that I will just be killing myself and I should stick to text's + Lectures and worry about step 1 later.

What is your input?

i am with friend A, i use kaplan along course work and its been of immense help so get it and make sure you are going to use it if you get them, also they are kind of incomplete without the accompanying videos so get those too if you can

Kryptik, did you use your normal textbooks + kaplan, or did you substitute your texts for kaplan?

i read the course textbook and then read kaplan, kaplan is a quick read so it doesnt take much time, also try to watch the videos at 1.5x, saves time
