All I can say is, had I not taken the class I would not be attending my top choice. Raised my scores immensely. Good luck to you.

i thought kaplan did a good job presenting all the required info for the DATs. But i didn't take the course.... just from the book (personal preference). it was nice that they had lots of practice questions to help prep you for the DATS. be sure to take advantage of that.

It helped me but not like I had anticipated. Maybe I am dumb?

I got a 17 overall and a 18 on the PAT. However, I got a real low grade on the math section as their math classes are WEAK.

Still got in however. My state school never even brought up the math score.
Thank goodness.

I did not take the class, but I bought the book. The book is a good guide to the DAT, but you should get more supplemental outlines, especially for math. I heard that the classes themselves are usually not so good. In my case I knew it was not necessary. If you know how to study, you can do it without paying $1000.

The kaplan prepr material is really good at getting you into DAT studying mode. Be careful with the PAT as it is much harder on the real DAT. On the other hand, the sciences I thought were much easier on the real one, also the math section and RC section were simler.

BTW, if you can, just take the online version of the class. There's no point in paying $300 or whatever it may be to get the in-class teaching because the teachers do not teach you anything extra.

Good luck studying!

The DAT course is def. helpful. The resources are by far the best aspect. The class room aspect wasn't that helpful for me personally though. My aa went from 17 to 20. My organic went from 15 to 25, bio from 17 to 20, gen chem from 16 to 21. Whoever said that the pat portion is more difficult on the real DAT knows what they are talking about, time becomes a real issue, especially under pressure. Good luck, it may cost u $1000, but if u get these kind of results, then that seems to me like a good investment.

enjoy

if u can study on your own, you'll be fine w/o the course. The book did HELP a lot, and their practice questions were very similiar to the real tests. I don't know about the class itself, but the materials that I got my hands on were quite helpful.

If you can get those materials, you may save yourself 1k for the application itself. 😀

good luck

Get all the books for the Kaplan course and you should be fine. I studied mainly from the book, because people told me the quality of the classroom experience is largely dependent on the instructor. However, the Kaplan prep material are top-notch and that material helped me score a 22 AA. Moreover, get topscore, because that program owns. I think topscore simulates the real exam more closely than kaplan, but kaplan is great for the material needed to review for the exam.

Good luck,
Rich

Take the Kaplan course. My GPA is terrible. However, with the help of the immense resource that Kaplan makes available for you, you are sure to achieve a decent score. Just because of my DAT, I was able to get accepted into an IVY league school. lol, I hate to sound like their posterboy, but seriuosly it helped. You should do it. It is an investment that will pay huge dividends!

Gee, I thought the scores were for one's performance on the test, not a grade for the review class you took?
