How are their Qbanks nowadays? Our school is going to be providing us with Kaplan COMLEX Qbanks, Comlex subject books, and a live course.

Also, we get access to Kaplan DVDs.

Thanks for the help!

A lot of the Kaplan Q banks had somatic dysfxn with their Qs which allowed you to answer it even if the H/P weren't enough for it. Gave me a false sense of security. I wouldn't buy it just for the COMLEX Qs, but if you're buying it for USMLE & you get it along with it go for it.

I thought the COMLEX qbank was somewhat similar to the real deal but the questions were way too easy, one step, "gimme" type questions appear frequently. On the real thing, most are two step problems requiring you to know one thing before you can answer another, and they are more difficult topics.

On the real COMLEX, there is a lot of stuff that seems like it comes out of left field, but many people who don't feel they know this random crap still end up with excellent scores. If you take the written Kaplan COMLEX tests, those are utter crap and look NOTHING like the current COMLEX, in my opionion, so take those with a grain of salt.

The COMSAE (online practice test w/ 200 questions for $50) underestimated my and many other SDNer's scores, but it was the closest thing in difficulty and content and question style to the real thing than any other resource out there.

There are some other threads around here on SDN addressing this topic, so you may want to do a forum search to get some more opinions. Good luck! :luck:
