Has anyone taken the Kaplan Course to prepare for the pcat's? is it helpful or should we just study this on our own?

its really expensive ($1100) which is why im debating on whether i should or not.

Help!!

Have you taken the PCAT already? If you haven't, then I would suggest holding off on taking the Kaplan course until after you've taken the PCAT. This way, you will have an idea of the areas where you need the most work. Plus, if you wait to take the Kaplan course, and your score improves as a result -- you'll feel as if you really got your money's worth. And yes, the Kaplan courses are excellent. I've never heard of anyone saying anything negative about them. My sister used them to improve her LSAT, and it did wonders for her.

I was reading some of the other threads relating to the same issue. Seems like it all depends on our study habits. I havent taken the PCAT yet. im just getting ready to start prepping. I guess i'll hold off the Kaplan course.

Thanks Star =)

I took Kaplan courses and I think it helped me a lot. They just organize your study saying this day you should study biology from this chapter to that and that day you are studying math. The rest depends on you if you follow all their instructions you will be fine. Of course you can study on your own. I 'm not very organized so KAPLAN just kept me on the right track. I hope this is helpful

Ya...I'm taking it right now....But what happened was that I received 50% aid from them...SO I only ended up paying $550 out of my pocket......They paid the rest.....Which was really helpful......

I haven't taken my PCAT yet....SO i don't know how accurate the cource is to the test..but i must say that....after taking this course really boosted my confidence level.....Now I think that i have prepared more than enough........... 👍

After taking my PCAT, I'll let u know if it was worth taking or not.....And I think that it depends on what kind of learner u are....to me...just reading doesn't help me much...i need someone who goes over the material with me.....I learn better by hearing ......

So.....try to find out whether u can be eligible to get the aid or not...I got lucky...... :luck: :luck:

How did you get aid?

Call the 1-800-KAP-TEST and ask them about what are the steps to apply for tuition assistance?? They will mail u a application packet.....two of the most important things u will need is (1) a recommendation from ur professor (2) proof of some tax papers.....

They give put aid based on ur need.....And it's first come first served based....

fill out the application packet and send it along with the tax papers and recomm. form..... and just wait for their reply...I had to call them several times....so if u don't here anything back in 2 weeks... call them up and ask them what's going on....

hope this helps...... 😉
