Still trying to debate whether or not to take the kaplan course considering that it is pretty expensive. I need help with time management. So for those out there who have taken the course before, could you please post your input about the course:

1)When/where did you take your Kaplan course?

2) What would you say were the strengths of your course?

3) What were the weaknesses of the course?

4) Do you feel that Kaplan prepared you adequately for the PCAT?

5) Would you recommend that future PCAT students take the Kaplan course?

1)When/where did you take your Kaplan course?
May-June 2006 Lexington, KY

2) What would you say were the strengths of your course?
It made you do the homework and study. The teachers were around my age up to 5 years older who did really well on the part that they were teaching. I liked having people that were in the same boat as me teaching me because they would give us little hints about what to def. look for. Plus, I thought the Kaplan tests were 10 times harder than the PCAT, which really prepaired me for the PCAT. Before Kaplan I had a hard time finishing certain sections in time, but they give you more than enough practice tests and homework to build up your speed.

3) What were the weaknesses of the course?
The Kaplan book and tests had a lot of errors in them - bad proofing

4) Do you feel that Kaplan prepared you adequately for the PCAT?
YES!!! I had a 53, and after the class I got a 91

5) Would you recommend that future PCAT students take the Kaplan course?
Heck Yes 👍 👍 👍 👍

Take it the month before you take your PCAT. (They are set up to do that). I would recommend taking the PCAT at least once before, because if you do well then you wont have to spend $1100 on the Kaplan course.

are you interested in selling your PCAT materials. please PM me with an answer, and cost thanks.

What about the online courses? Anyone taken it online? I am not going to be able to attend the classroom one. Thinking about enrolling in the online study program. Thanks.

I do not recommend taking the course because I thought it was a total waste of money. You can buy the Kaplan book (it is exactly like the one Kaplan students get) for around $40 from online retailers or Barnes and Nobles. From what I've heard, the format of the PCAT has changed from when I took it so maybe the Kaplan teaching format has changed as well. I took my course in Houston, TX and it seemed as if our teacher simply read straight out of the manual. I did average on my first attempt at the PCAT and did significantly better without their help the second time around. I suggest sitting in on one of the classes to see how you like the format.
