Is there value in taking the 3 or 6 month Kaplan review course for Part I? I feel like I didn't get a great education in some of these subjects and worry that the decks might not be sufficient. Suggestions?

If you can motivate your self and focus on your own, don't bother. You will feel "jacked". If you can't focus and are easily distracted, take it.

You don't need to shell out the money for Kaplan. They give you all the info you need here at UNC. Just use the decks and old tests. I also recomment using First Aid but many people didn't use it and did fine. You can score 90+ without it. I don't know anyone in my year (2nd) that took it or anyone in 3rd or 4th year who took the Kaplan course.

What about using the Kaplan book?

Also, anyone selling released exams? Send me a PM.

NO WAY would I have done as well as I did without Kaplan. The only thing is the class itself is WORTHLESS! The jewel part is the online resources that come with the class. INVALUABLE! You can't get them without paying for the class so I would drop the change. They also give you a huge book that covers everything and PREMADE notecards. (the physical class itself is worthless though) (20 overall on DAT)

I'm not questioning the DAT. I did well without a class. I was asking about the NDBE.

A Kaplan review course was paid for (and required) here at AZ. I don't think it was valuable at all. I liked the Review book, but the rest of their resources were terrible (unless recycled USMLE questions is what you're after). One of the lecturers (Dental Anatomy) even told us that he hadn't seen an NBDE exam in 15 years and then proceeded to "teach" us all about what dental anatomy would be on the exam...right...

still got a 99 on dental anatomy and didn't ever put a fist on my palm...anyone in the lecture would have to chuckle at that guy's methodology.
