I paid $1399 to attend the DAT offered by kaplan at Tempe Arizona. It was a waste of time and money. I don't recommend any student to take this class. You are much better off if you buy the materials and practice tests online and study yourself. It was a very bad experience and I don't wish it for anyone.

I also took Kaplan. The classes were VERY unbeneficial, but the Kaplan materials were a great study guide. Sadly, I purchased one set of the Kaplan books, notecards, etc. on eBay for about $30, then paid $1200 for the materials and the class. Kaplan is great if you have little to no study habits, but only because it offers you a study schedule. However, if you are interested in a study schedule, I will put one together for you for half the price of Kaplan...in fact, I'll do it for a Big Gulp. I do love beverages!!

on the contrary I liked the Kaplan courses I took. They were a good review. i had excellent student teachers though and I was taught many tricks to help me out in the test. (not things like CUT the PY = C, U, T are pyrimidines) but stuff that was useful.

I like to believe that you get out what you put in. Since I paid 900 bucks for Kaplan I made sure I got everything out of it I could.

How did you get the $900 deal? I called them and they said the lowest I could get is $1049.

If you take the pre-test they give you a discount on the classes. I recommend talking to someone who took the Kaplan course at the same location you are contemplating to see how good the teachers are. The Kaplan office should be able to give you some references. Otherwise, there is always the online lectures or buy all the materials and do it yourself with Amazon.

Like many of you, I also took the Kaplan course and IMO it is indeed a waste of time. What did help me, however, were the practice tests and the online lessons and workshops. The problem with taking the Kaplan course while taking a regular semester worth of classes is almost impossible to be on top of everything and on time. That is why I recommend just doing the online course and you set your own pace. Also, you will be saving a lot of money!
