Well.. I got a 8 PS, 7 BS, and a 8 VR

I know this is a decent starting diagnostic score. I've been studying EK for 2-3 weeks. I took the diagnostic 2 days ago. I know I'll probably improve on the PS and BS.

BUT

My Verbal score is whats scaring me the most! I've been using EK's strategy. I've gotten 8s on the first 2 tests of EK Verbal 101 passages. I'm really scared Verbal might not improve 🙁

Plus, is getting a 36 on the REAL thing reasonable with this diagnostic?

My friend took TPR, got a 28 on his 1st diag but ended up with a 37S on the real thing. 14 9 14 S, so yea, 36+ is doable.

A lot of people on here say EK is superior. Are there any people on here who used Kaplan's VERBAL strategy??

Should I stop worrying about strategies and just practice... I seem to have 2-3 mins left at the end of VR sections in general.. I feel fairly confident most of the time about my answers.. its just when I get my score back.. I flip out

I think you should 1st focus on seeing if you could get the answers correct rather than having extra time left over. So rather than finishing all 7 passages and having 2-3 mins left, how about finish just 6 and see if you could get the same score. You need to determine if it's a time thing or just a logic thing. As far as using EK strategy or Kaplans, see what works for you. I have this other friend who started off in a 7-8 range in VR and got a 13 on the real thing. I was like NO WAY! that's crazy, if I could get a 13 on the real thing I'll almost be in the 40s. lol

thing that sux is that kaplan passages are 6 pasages each

different strokes, different folks. do what you feel comfortable doing b/c people swear by kaplans strategy and people swear by ek's strategy
