Kaplan Ecology/Evolution/Classification

For those who have taken the DAT and used Kaplan as a resource. How do you guys feel about the Kaplan Ecology/Evolution/Classification section(s)? I think they are pretty good, but to tell you the truth I dont know anymore. Many people are criticizing Kaplan for what it has. So I just want to make sure that Kaplan is a reputable source for this matter.

Also, I know ADA has a set amount of specific questions for each section for Biology and Chem, and Organic. Do they actually stick to this quota or can it deviate? For example, I think they say that there are ~9 Cell bio questions, can they only have 2 cell bio questions while they bump up 9 Ecology Questions?

Kaplan definately did not help me.

I used Cliffs AP Bio which helped out a lot on the classifications/ecology/evolution section.

Also, if you want to go more in depth, read Shaums. It goes into detail but it will help reinforce what you learned in Cliffs.

There's really no definite Good/Bad answer, when it comes to KAPLAN's performance. They suck at some sections and a do a relatively decent jobs at the others.
For example, I personally think KAPLAN's biology section is way too general. You can still score 20+ using their book, but you must have a strong biology background. Even within the biology section there are chapters that are written better than the others. For example, their endocrinology chapter is awesome, but then they devote what like 3 pages to embryology?
Similarly, their O-chem section sucks, because they only give you a fraction of the info you need. But then they redeem themselves in the G-chem section.

Nevertheless, I think KAPLAN's ecology (including the section on taxonomy and classifications) is good enough.
