could you guys please post your responses to this issue, it would be nice for everyone to see what your opinions are. I've been debating this same issue. Thanks
Yes, please post the answers here or PM me if it's too private to post!
I can't comment on Kaplan as I didn't take their review. I have read some positive things about them. They have got to be ok because they have been around so long. I have their books and think the info is ok. I have looked at their questions and think they reflect what we see on step 1 as I have taken it and failed.
I took the Falcon review & personally would not take it again. Nuf said.
There are other reviews out there that I have seen positive comments on. I have the PASS videos and like the presentation and content. There is also another review called Northwestern that I have read positive comments about it. There is another called Topper Enterprises that guarantees if you don't pass they will refund your money.
Ther are a lot of reviews for us out there. It is best to research the topic on the different forums to see what comments are out there. You need to be cautious because there are paid employees of the reviews also on the forums trying to convince you to take their review. I have found the shills usually are the ones who give the wonderful, glowing success stories.
Hope this helps.

I am debating whether or not purchase the new set of 4 kaplan books for step 1. I feel that i need some sort of large, comprehensive source of info to study from and kaplan seems to be the only one that has the whole package, although it is quite expensive. Is the BRS series comprable? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could PM with their experience/opinon of doing the Kaplan Live Letures vs Watching the videos at the prep center. Which one is better? Thanks
Wow, it's been a while since I've lurked around the forums...nice to be back.
I'm also considering the Kaplan Webprep course and would love to hear people's input on how useful it is. I'm the type of person that can't really learn by reading books...I have to have my lectures. The prospect of sitting down in a library with board review books for 10 weeks has me terrified, but the live course is way too expensive, so I thought Webprep might be a good way to cater to my learning style. Can anyone speak to this?
Oh, and if there's some sort of top-secret classified info that's been circulating via PM, can someone let me in on it? Thanks a bunch. ;-)

what's with all the secrecy? anyone also want to fill me in on the effectiveness of kaplan lectures?
i can't stand the idea of just sitting in a library all day reading my books, but i'm also not sure that i want to spend 3 of the 4 weeks before the exam in lecture. plus i'd have to go home for these classes, as they are not offered at my school.

would someone also like to let me know about what they think of the effectiveness of the liveprep? I've already put the money down but I'm still waivering. I can't imagine studying all day for the next 5-6 wks by myself either but I also can't imagine being lectured to for 8hrs a day. maybe, I should just consider which subjects I'm a little week on and go to only those lectures. Any input is welcome and if you'd like to maintain anonymity send a pm.
thanks
thanks
I thought that most students that did the onlne lectures for kaplan got really sick of them fast. The qbank is obviously worth it. I honestly borrowed a friend's Kaplan books for a reference. I thought it was overwhelming. There is plently of good stuff and I am not a big lecture person. I only had one friend who did most of them and did pretty good on boards, but he also attended every single lecture at med school.....
