I just took a Kaplan Full Length this morning. Is the Kaplan bio even close to the real DAT questions? i am a bio major w a 3.8 gpa and have been preparing for 3 months now (Cliffs AP bio, Kaplan, textbook) and i was very suprised to see the specificity of all the bio questions. there were almost zero main concepts and almost all the questions were extremely detailed.

to anyone who has taken the DAT, is the kaplan bio section reflective of the real DAT? if it is, it will be impossible to crack 20.

Don't worry too much about the bio questions on the Kaplan tests.

I teach the Kaplan course and I think it does a great job at preparing you for the seemingly arbitrary types of questions you'll encounter on the test; however, their specificity isn't as great on the real thing.

If you are a bio major with a 3.8 (I was similiar when I took the real thing), I think you'll be fine. Focus on chemistries and help them get your score up.

Just took the test today. The bio section from the Kaplan test that I took out of the book seemed considerably easier than the real thing. I'm not trying to scare you, but that's just my opinion. I'm a chem major, so I didn't have a lot of bio. I was very well prepared for Kaplan type questions and got a 22 on the real thing, and going in I was thinking I could do even better. Hope this helps. The amount of studying you have done should leave you in good shape for the test. You can't stress over it too much because you can't know everything in a section so broad as "biology".

Kaplan is good for starting to review everything and getting into DAT mode

The interface is the most realistic to the DAT I have seen, and its great for timing and getting your strategy down

Bio: The bio is not enough to break a 20..I dont even think its enough to break a 19 because i was getting over 20's on all the kaplan full length tests and I got a 18 on the real thing.

Get Cliffs AP Bio to review the bio topics and then use DAT destroyer and Topscore for bio questions, they are more accurate and random.

Chem and OChem: Kaplan is good for chem and organic. Although Id supplement with your school textbook for things you are not certain of.

PAT: No good. It is way to easy, especially the angles. Get crack the DAT PAT for that

Math: I found kaplans math also slightly easier than the real thing, and topscore more accurate

Reading: Kaplan is pretty dead on with the reading, and so is topscore

Kaplan is great to start, but you need alot more to do well
