Kaplan in Chennai

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
They have a set of videos which r recorded in the kaplan centres in the US which u follow for each subject..there will be a few docs around to answer ur questions..there will be no one teaching u directly..jus video.
I wuld suggest u buy the kaplan notes and study from it directly...the individual subject notes(not the condensed review) are abt 5000 rs.
the course is expensive, abt 30 k i think.
hope this helps.

I am planning to join Kaplan .
Wondering if anyone could give me some feedback regarding kaplan here in Chennai

Thanks for the info.
I study the decks in the comp. Invariably, I end up chatting with my friends or playing San Andreas. I've been told that they have a library witht the latest study materials including released papers with detailed answers and decks. it seems I can stay there from 9am to 9pm.
If that is the case, I think I might be joining. Don't wanna risk my second attempt 😛

hi,
if u just study in detail with refernce to text books and dont only depend on decks and old papers , ull be fine.
i really dont think u need to waste that kinda money.. cause its really not impossible if u study ahrd , in detail , understanding every topic rather than mugging up facts.
in saying this from experaince. i know decks are not adequae , refer to text books.. read in detail.. refer esp topics u dont know..a nd ull be fine... u will definitely do well...

i agree with toothie..intensive studying is a must to get a good score..u need to be good at ur basics and try to understand whatever u study..earlier papers were easy and ppl jus studied from decks and scored well but now since the competition is increasing the papers r more tough...
u can start a study grp in ur area and all of u can get together and study important topics..jus a suggestion..
but if u really think u wont be able to study on ur own and that u r getting too distracted then prbly u can join the course..
all the best!! 👍

Well the problem is that a 'computer games' addict and studying from the computer don't blend. And frankly speaking, I wasn't a bookie type either. Used to read from my friends notes. So right now, am stuck with just the decks without any text books. Also, I kinda get motivated looking at others studying.
I did understand most of the things in the decks. I thought I was pretty much prepared. And I ended up with 85. I think I will go ahead with my kaplan idea since I think I will study better in the library with real books rather than from the computer this time.
Thanks a lot for the info rtvj and Toothie.

hi ajay,
if u get motivated by seeing others study ..u can always go to a public library..u neednt pay Rs.30000 ....Kaplan in madras doesnt have THE STUDYING environment....there will be constant phones ringing...too much honking from the traffic as it is centered amidst a big junction...
if u think ur hooked on to computer games ..u can always pull out the internet
(i know...its easier said than done.....)
by the way 85 is good score....i'm sure u can get an extra 5 on ur own.i shudnt be talking as i havnt given my exam as yet....but since the topic was abt kaplan in chennai...i cudnt help it.
its just a suggestion...up to u
good luck
