KAPLAN MCAT online Sufficient?

Hi all,

So I keep hearing that the Kaplan DAT online class is pretty good. But I don't want to shell out 1200+ when I can just buy the study material for a lo cheaper so essentially I am paying for a few dozen videos.

So my friend is taking the MCAT course now and she has access to all the online MCAT lessons.
My question is this, is the Kaplan MCAT online videos compareable to what the Kaplan DAT? I am talking about bio, chem and orgo. Should I just use her account to watch the MCAT videos and will they be compariable to videos I will see if I used the Kaplan DAT? Thanks!

I haven't taken the Kaplan courses, but I am doing fine in all the practice tests.

I suggest you run through all the chapter problems in your textbooks for Gchem and Ochem, shoudn't take too long.. And read through Schaum's Bio. It's long and boring, but definitely will prepare you for the toughest questions.

Of course, don't read too much into biochemistry, because it won't be on the test 🙂

I suck at RC so I can't tell you much, but QR is very easy on DAT so don't worry too much about it.

to answer the question.
-Yes for biology/chemistry/organic subject tests are only useful for you b/c they are the same.
- Workshops are the same to, quizes are the same.
-SECTION tests are NOT The SAME.
-VIdeos you cant get much from them anyways ignore them for now. -Practice tests ARE NOT THE SAME.
-Review material is kind of in depth in dat books.
-NO PAT.
-NO math
-RC is COMPLETELY DIFF. from VERBAL
-your friend might want her course back after 30 days if she doesnt do good on her mcat.
think about all the possibilities and invest in your self.

ps. essentially you are not JUST paying for couple videos b/c they are not that much useful you are paying for practice. go to their website and see how much practice they offer for dat.

op. what some people do is like they just buy kaplan book and study themselves and take couple of practice tests to asses themselves w/ topscore/achiver/kaplan the book has 3 exams. and see if they feel like they need more practice then you can invest in kaplan or other resources.
