Hi,

Another question for you folks. On number 91, why are aldehydes more easily oxidized than alcohols?
 
aldehydes are more reactive toward oxidation. If you remember sugar oxidations, reactivity toward oxidation is aldehyde > primary alcohol > secondary alcohol.

And like the above post, aldehydes wants to go all the way to COOH usually, if you begin from the alcohol.
