So I was going through the Kaplan OChem section and they have alot of different reactions. Do you guys think it's worth it to know all of them (ie. treatment of phenols w/ oxidizing reagents to make quinones. is that even important?) Or should I just focus on the more common reactions? Thanks

I used basically all of Kaplan's Ochem materials for the test and did really well on actual test day. But more specifically, I read through those notes, but really just used the practice problems from Subject Tests and the Flash cards as a quick reference. Those flash cards were actually really helpful on test day.

Hope that helps.

the hardest reactions are prob the ring opening/closing, aldol condensation, and some of the fancy ether/ester formation.
