Kaplan Online Classes?

There are certainly a couple of benefits to Kaplan... (1) it offers structure to your studying if you don't have the discipline. (2) resources such as subject tests and practice exams available to you can be very helpful.
That being said, if you can budget your time and stay disciplined, it might be best to go with the blue book and purchase both top score and achiever for practice. If I had it to do all over, I wouldn't have spent the money on it.
Kaplan is probably worth more like $600...not $1300.

I am taking the online class right now, and it is 200 bucks cheaper than the classroom setting. I don't think it is a waste of money, but you really have to be motivated to do the studying on your own. So far, it has helped me a lot. 👍
I took the kaplan online classes and took the DAT last month, and I am not very happy with my score. The practice tests and PAT in Kaplan are alot easier than real DAT. If you can afford the online classes it will give you a good study schedule but it is not enough.

online classes are worth it if you have trouble finding some place to begin studying (as did I). they provide a nice outline as well as very good practice tests for all sections. Definitely helped bring up my score.

I took the kaplan online class before I took the DAT and thought it was helpful. I had been out of school for a couple of years and really wanted more of a class rather than just books to help me relearn the material. I took the online version because I was working full time so I could follow the lectures when it worked for me, plus its a little cheaper than the regular class. I liked the class. Is it overpriced - yes, but it helped me learn the material and I got the scores I wanted so I guess it was worth it (22 AA). You get the online classes plus two books and a set of flashcards mailed to you and a number of practice tests to help prepare - theres more info in there than you would get if you just got the blue book. If you are a good self-studier and learn well from books though, just get the kaplan blue book, topscore and maybe destroyer and save a several hundred bucks and learn it on your own. But if you want more of a structure to your learning and a set schedule than a class - online or regular - might be worth it.

How does the online class work? Do you download video lectures? Or are you simply told what to read...?
Just as if you took the course, you have "homework" after every lecture telling you what chapters to read etc. The main difference is that you watch videos of the lecture instead of in a classroom setting. Must be very dedicated to allotting time to get it done since it expires.
