Hi everyone,

There is a qs in kaplan book, Ochem , lesson 14 (sugars) qs # 6, Whcih asks"the cyclic form of monosacchrides are:

a. hemiacetals
B. hemiketals
C. Acetals

Answer is A and c. However the explanation is very confusing I guess, bc it says: " when a monosacchride is in its cyclic form, it is either a hemiacetal or hemiketal...." yet answer doesn't include B which is a hemiketal.
Could some one please tell me what is going on. Thank you.

i have the class review notes version, and the answer is choice c which is for the hemiacetal and the hemiketal, which is correct.

maybe your version has a typo?
